“FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH”

As long as we are alive in the physical, we are expected to keep on fighting the good fight.

This came from Pastor Taiwo during the recent Thursday Showers worship service. Reading from 1Timothy 6:11-12, Pastor Taiwo explained that the redeemed of the Lord are not expected to live without faith, because it is the nature of the enemy never to relent in his attacks.

The heart of a soldier, he said, bubbles with confidence in battle. So, Christians must be confident so as to avoid distraction by the devil. According to him, this confidence helps our faith to thrive. He emphasized that where there is no faith there is no victory.

God did not promise the saints the absence of problems. Indeed, the Scripture declared through King David in Psalm 34:19: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous,

But the LORD delivers him out of them all.” Those who are conversant with this promise ought not to fret when they go through trials. It was on this premise that Pastor Taiwo encouraged the saints on Sunday never to allow any problem to weigh them down.

Referring to Paul’s admonition in Romans 8:18, he reminded them that no earthly problem lasts forever. Better still, the believer should always remember that at the end of every affliction permitted by the Lord, there is sufficient glory.

He admonished everyone to be encouraged by the fact that Jesus bore His suffering on the Cross without grudges and, at the end, received eternal glory.
