Speaking from Psalms 2:8 which is the promise for the week, Pastor Nomthi at the October 28 Sunday service said that the inheritance of the world belongs to God’s children because He has given it to them, but He still desires them to ask Him so as to get instructions on how best to possess it.
According to her, God’s blessings on His children are not for self-aggrandizement but to positively affect the world. “There is a danger in thinking that you are just colonizing places so as to be known. When God blesses you, He wants you to be a blessing to others. It is about the kingdom and not yourself,” she said.
She therefore encouraged them to submit any selfish ambition to God so that they can be useful tools in His hands. “You need to ask God in order to receive your inheritance, and submit your selfish ambition to Him so he can bless you and also make you a blessing to others,” she urged.
PASTOR NOMTHI’S WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT @ THURSDAY HSOWERS
Pastor Nomthi admonished the worshippers at the October 25 Thursday Showers service to live up to their calling in Christ which is to bless and be a blessing to others. Speaking from 1 Peter 3:8-9, she said that believers are to bless and not curse or repay evil for evil. “Your calling is not to take revenge but to bless others,” she said.
She stated that being compassionate to a person who has wronged or is hurting you may not be an easy thing to do, but can be the key to unanswered prayers. In her words, “Some blessings can happen fast when we walk in love and forgiveness.”
She therefore urged them to allow God work in them so as to be able to fulfill this calling. “It is wise to obey God’s Word and allow Him fight for you. Revenge is bitter but forgiveness is sweet,” she noted.
