Today’s scripture: 1 Chronicles 16:8-9
“O give thanks to the Lord; Call upon His name. Make known His deeds among the people. Sing to Him, Sing psalms to Him. Talk of all His wondrous works.”
In the secular world, testimonies are accounts of events often relayed in a court of law to influence a decision. However, with Christians, our testimony is our evidence of the veracity of the gospel and our personal experience of its truth.
In Mark chapter 5 we meet the mad man of Gadarenes. He had been in a debilitating condition for many years, but one encounter with Jesus changed His situation. But He did not just go home quietly. He went through ten cities telling people what the Lord had done for him. This is what gratitude does to you. It causes you to testify; to tell others how good the Lord has been. We should not receive the blessings of God and keep sealed lips, we should testify, we should make His deeds known. Jesus might as well be speaking to us today, ” Go home to your friends and tell them them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you (Mark 5:19).”
A great way to express your gratitude to God for His wondrous deeds is by sharing with others. Share a testimony today. Make the deeds of the Lord in your life known. Express gratitude. The Lord bless you as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
Meditate and Memorize:
“And in that day you will say; Praise the Lord, call upon His name; declare His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His name is exalted.” Isaiah 12: 4
Prayer/Confession:
Lord, this day; I ask for boldness to declare your works and to tell of your goodness to me. I receive it in Jesus Name. Amen.
