Pastor Taiwo Odukoya @Sunday Service
In continuation of his message on the Holy Spirit, Pastor Taiwo at the July 7 Sunday service said that believers’ journey in God’s Kingdom is not meant to be walked alone but in partnership with the Holy Spirit, noting that there is a measure of precision when it comes to the Holy Spirit.
Dwelling on Acts 1:8, John 16:8-13 and Isaiah 11:1-3, he said that God will always equip His children for whatever assignment He has given them, stating that believers need to wait for His power to fulfil their assignment so as to avoid frustration. “You aren’t created for frustration but for victory and fulfilment,” he said.
He cited Peter (Acts 9:1-11) and Ananias (Acts 9:10-16) as examples to show the precision of the Holy Spirit in convincing and empowering believers to fulfil their assignments. “You can be a great preacher and an eloquent speaker, but it’s the Holy Spirit who brings conviction to people’s hearts,” he noted.
He then encouraged the congregation to always live conscious of the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit in them to fulfil their assignments and purposes in life. “Your life is to be a Holy Spirit guided life because the steps of the righteous are always ordered by the Lord. So live daily being conscious of the Holy Spirit. There is a capacity for more in you,” he said.
“POWER”
Pastor Taiwo @ Thursday Showers
The power of the Holy Spirit in a believer is not sensitive to geographical location. The moment you receive the Holy Spirit and His power, anywhere you are, people will see the glory of God. These were the words of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya at the first Thursday Showers service in the month of July. According to him, every believer needs to be conscious of that power in him or her for it to be activated. “You have the power but you need to settle down to what you have. No matter how much cash is in your pocket, if it’s not the currency of the country you live in, it’s as good as not having money,” he said.
Speaking from Acts 1:8, he noted that this power is to enable believers preach the gospel both in words and deeds, noting that the Holy Spirit will help every believer to make this happen because He will always guide. “You need power in life because life is based on it. You are not expected to live without the Holy Spirit but to live in partnership with Him in all things,” he stated.
He then asked them not to do anything for the Kingdom of God without the power of the Holy Spirit, just as Jesus laid an example in Acts 10:38. “Don’t belittle the power of God. Don’t go into the world to preach the gospel without the power of the Holy Spirit,” he urged.
