INTIMACY WITH THE FATHER
Pastor Kunle Areogun@ Sunday first service
Speaking from 2 Samuel 5:17-21, Pastor Areogun at the July 18 Sunday first service emphasized the importance of intimacy with God. According to him, believers can only succeed and overcome battles of life by having an intimate relationship with God; noting that intimacy allows a believer to know the mind of God over an issue. “Having someone powerful by the side in times of battles gives one the comfort and assurance of victory. Your intimacy with God will give you the precise instructions on how to navigate life,” he said.
The clergy further mentioned that believers’ reactions and actions in times of challenges will determine their outcome. “Do you always go to your friends or God in times of trouble? A problem remains a problem until you hear the anointed word on the problems,” he said.
Using David who would always ask God before engaging in any battles as an example, pastor Areogun noted that when believers develop intimacy with God, they get anointed instructions and advanced information which will make them overcome their challenges or enemies just like David always did.
“Get back into the basis of private relationship with God. There are pressures all over the world, only intimacy with God will give you your precise instructions which will bring you victory. Being born again will give you general access to God but doesn’t give you intimacy with God. You have to pay the price of intimacy with God,” he said.
He, therefore, urged them from Exodus 24:12 and Ecclesiastes 8:3 to be willing to pay the price of separation and spend time with God over issues of life as that will save them from trial and error lifestyle. “You have to pay the price of intimacy with God. This is where you will receive precise instructions for life,” he urged.
A MILLION LITTLE MIRACLES
Pastor Oyindamola Soderu @ Sunday second service
Pastor Oyindamola Soderu, at the commencement of her ministration during the July 18 Sunday second service called the attention of the congregation to the truth that Jesus remains the major Miracle and Possession everyone desires. She acknowledged that while there are indeed issues, Jesus is the answer to all.
According to her, God is the Tsunami against all troubles and He is in control no matter the realities of the Devil’s activities. “Even if we are going through the valleys of the shadow of death; we are not clueless as God is our Guide and Shepherd,” she said.
Taking her main text from Matthew 13: 44 -46, she exhorted that the biggest miracle has already been given to every child of God and it only takes careful consideration to know or acknowledge it. Referencing the events of 2 Samuel 5: 18 – 21, she brought to fore the fact that the great breakthrough and deliverance witnessed by David was not the main deal but rather the presence and assurance of God. She emphasized that God was the breakthrough and not the defeat of the Philistines.
The clergy further read from 2 Corinthians 5:17 to say that each believer walks in generational blessings. She admonished that it is unchristian to believe the lies of village people when God has declared a blessing on us. She called the attention of the people to the Scripture that we are the apple of His eyes.
In concluding her message, she emphasized that ‘’Jesus is the final Authority’’ and that He is the chief Cornerstone. Having Him and the Holy Ghost, therefore, represent the greatest Miracle any believer desires. “Just allow the Word of God to have free flow and course in your hearts. When you do this, it will flow from your mouths and victory cannot but be certain,” she urged.
SURVIVING THE TIMES
Pastor Tayo Kujore @Thursday Shower
Life is filled with battles. There is nobody in this world that is not fighting, had not fought or will not fight battles. As fertilizers are to crops, sometimes, battles define your destiny. The devil will not fight anyone without a future. These were the words of Pastor Tayo Kujore during his ministration at the July 15 Thursday showers.
According to him, things, economies and currencies will always change but amid the changes, believers ought to know that there is always a way out. Speaking from Obadiah 1:17-18 and using the cases of Hannah as recorded in 1 Samuel 1:8-11 and Jabez as recorded in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, the clergy noted that believers have the right to deliverance as well as to possess their possession; noting that this will be achieved when they have a high place where they have personal meeting or connection with God.
In his words, “Your high place for this year is a place of separation for you and God for clarity of purpose. Corporate prayers and meetings are good but you need a personal meeting with God to get clarity for the year. This is where you can be real with God. You also need scriptures for strength to face the battles of life. This will give you strength.”
He, therefore, urged believers to always remember the word of God and stand on it to navigate the times and seasons. “Trials will come but don’t let it sweep you away. Pain will come but don’t be discouraged. Betrayals would come, don’t give up,” he urged.
