Today’s Scripture: Luke 13:10-13
Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
In 1914, preacher, John G. Lake started an outreach in Spokane, Washington, called the Divine Healing Institute. Lake had been influenced by John Alexander Dowie and strongly believed God’s healing power could free the sick from the clutches of sickness. One day, a thirty-five-year-old woman named Mrs. Teske came with an unusual case of fibroid: “A twisted mass of muscle and sinew, arteries and veins, teeth and hair. The most disorganized twisted and jumbled mass that is possible.”
This tumour was thirty pounds in weight that would equal the size of four seven and a half pound babies. One day she could no longer stand, nor sit, and out of her agony, she cried out to Jesus for healing. The power of God came on her and she began to twist and crunch, and within three minutes she was totally healed. The tumour had utterly vanished.
Sickness and disease were not in God’s original plan for mankind. Adam was created free of them. It was man’s sin and fall from grace that made him susceptible to the limiting and threatening condition of sickness. The good news, however, is that Christ died and resurrected to place us right within God’s original plan for us. We do not have to be bound by sickness. We can live free and whole.
The woman in our opening story had been bound by sickness and disease for eighteen long years. But one chance encounter with Jesus set her free of her infirmity. The truth is, health is a part of our covenant privileges in Christ. Christ has paid the price in full. We no longer have to tolerate being bound by sickness and disease. You can stand on our freedom charter, which is the Bible, and claim your healing today, in Jesus’ name. Sickness will not keep you bound. Remember today that you have a covenant that guarantees your freedom from sickness. Walk in this consciousness. Walk in freedom. Walk in health, today and always, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer & Confession:
Thank You, Jesus, for setting me free from sin, sickness and disease. Sickness has no hold on me. Jesus bore my infirmities and my diseases and by His stripes I am healed. Thank You, Father, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
