Today’s Scripture: Titus 2:11-12
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.
In heaven there once was a great debate as to who was the greatest monument of God’s grace. All secrets were told as the redeemed sought to pay tribute to the grace of God. One after another they related the transgression out of which Christ had delivered him. At length the choice seemed to be settling down upon one man who apparently had committed all sins. Iniquity after iniquity he related as he turned over the ghastly pages of his autobiography. Then he related how on his deathbed Christ came and saved him as he had saved the thief on the cross. But just before the vote was taken, another of the redeemed stepped forward and asked to tell his story. It was this: He had come to know and love Christ as a child and had followed him all the days of his life, and by grace he had been kept from the sins and transgressions of which the others had spoken. Then the vote was taken; and it was not the drunkard, the thief, the adulterer, the perjurer, the murderer, or the blasphemer, but the man who had followed Christ all his days and had been kept by his grace who was selected as the greatest monument to the grace of God.
Yes, the grace of God covers a multitude of sins, but it is not a reactive force that kicks in only when we fall short. The grace of God is proactive; teaching and empowering us to eschew sin and transgression. The present age has continued to push the boundaries of morality. Sin has become an embedded culture promoted by global media machinery. Against the backdrop of this darkness, God expects us to shine as stars in a depraved generation. To do this, we need the grace of God. And our opening text says this grace has been made available to us, teaching us to live sober, righteous and godly lives in this present age.
You are the difference the world is seeking. We can hardly manifest the glory of God as expected, if we fall in the same place the world falls. Embrace the grace of God today. Make a fresh commitment to lay aside every weight, and the sin that easily besets. Look unto Jesus, who was tempted in every way, but was yet without sin. Sin shall not have dominion over you.
Receive the grace of God as a necessary aid to overcome sin. We can appropriate the grace of God by fixing our minds on the things of the Spirit, letting the Word of God be our constant meditation and guide. Your light will shine, in Jesus’ name. The grace of God will avail for you today, and always.

Father, I pray for the manifestation of Your grace in every area of my life, in Jesus’ name. Sin shall not have dominion over me, in Jesus’ name.
