SCARLET THREAD (concluding part)

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ the Sunday service

In continuation of his previous topic, Scarlet Thread, the senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, said at the Sunday service on October 8 that the scarlet thread is woven through the tapestry of the Bible, starting from the Old Testament and ending in the New Testament, and on how everything was announcing and pointing to Jesus Christ and the redemptive nature of His blood on Calvary.

He also talked about the importance of the scarlet thread as it serves as a redemptive symbol, the same way the scarlet robe was put on Jesus Christ.

He cited Joshua 2:18, Leviticus 4:15, 13:12, Isaiah 53:4-5, and Galatians 3:19 and explained how the different stories in the Bible were pointing to Jesus Christ, the process for the atonement of sin, and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. He said, “God instituted the sacrificial system because of Israel’s failure in general; it was added to the Abrahamic covenant because of transgression.”

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya further explained that the initial system was a covering of sin but not a cleansing of sin; “They were all covered but not cleansed” and likened it to a stained shirt that is being covered with a jacket, as there is a difference between being covered and being cleansed.

He also cited Genesis 2:25, 3:21, and Ephesians 4:9 and emphasised that anyone living by the ten commandments who thinks they are good people in right standing is only covered but not cleansed, and that it is only in Jesus Christ that they can both be covered and cleansed.

Pastor Jimmy emphasised while sharing from Hebrews 10:1–18 that once the blood of Jesus was shed, every sin was paid for, covered, and cleansed for eternity. He said, “If it is not in Christ Jesus, it is an imitation; the one that has the ability to cover and cleanse is Jesus Christ.”

In conclusion, he explained the importance of the blood of Jesus and how it serves to redeem, make peace with God, bring the believer into fellowship with God, and make atonement.

THE AUDACITY OF GOD

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Thursday showers

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya at the October 5 Thursday showers emphasised God’s intentionality in keeping and guiding His own. The clergy spoke to the protectiveness of God as spoken in Isaiah 43:14–17, saying that God personalises His role as ‘owner’ in the lives of His children. “It doesn’t matter the situation or circumstances; the one who parted the Red Sea says He is your God and asks you to go forward,” he said.

Pastor Jimmy dropped a word of wisdom: “Your biggest warfare is at the point of your breakthrough; however, when you see them coming, do not be alarmed because they have a purpose to fulfil.” He went further to reiterate our direct access to God without needing someone to intercede on our behalf or lay hands.

He noted that if God is troubling a believer in an area and they can’t seem to shake it off, it is because God wants to do something for them in that area. The voice of God carries weight.

Pastor Jimmy opined that knowing the word and speaking the word are crucial in the lives of every believer. “Stand still and see the salvation of God, as He is very creative in His doings,” he said.

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya said the October 5 Showers service was about breaking off the shackles of fear, doubt, lack, and poverty. He quoted someone as saying that “wealth is not the amount of money you have in your bank account, but who you have access to; show me who you have access to, and I will show you your net worth,” and because we have access to the Kings of kings and the Lord of lords, all is settled.

He noted that everything that believers see is created from what they do not see. According to him, “we call forth things as though they were; we settle them in the Spirit, and the physical must align.”
