It’s Just His Way

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Sunday service

Reflecting on the theme of the new month, Divine Provision, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya began his message at the December 1 Sunday service by explaining the nature and capacity of God in providing for His own. According to him, God’s nature, ability, knowledge and capacity to provide cannot be compared to humans’ capacity and nature or knowledge. “God is not just the One who has the capacity to provide, He is provision Himself. His nature is provision itself. It’s just His way and who He is.”

Giving the examples of the wicked judge recorded in Luke 18:3-5, the widow who gave her mite recorded in Luke 21:3-4, and Joseph of Arimathea who asked for Jesus’ body to be buried in his tomb recorded in Mark 15:46, the Senior Pastor explained that provision can come from a place of capacity without necessarily having a good nature; it can also be necessitated from a good nature without having the capacity to give; and it can also come from both capacity and good nature limited by knowledge as such cannot give without the knowledge of the need.

Further speaking from Genesis 18:14, Psalm 24:1 & 50:10, 2 Corinthians 9:8, and Philippians 4:19, Pastor Jimmy explained the capacity and nature of God to provide, stating that God has endless resources and capacity.

Citing Genesis 22: 2-8, Pastor Odukoya mentioned the three ways to access divine provision as recognizing God as the ultimate provider, cultivating faith in His promise and having faith.

He then urged his listeners to trust God and make a demand of divine provision, adding that God has the nature and capacity with full knowledge of their needs, and He is always ready to provide. “Let the economy be doing what it’s doing, if God has said He would provide for you, He will do it,” he said.

LET GO OF YOUR WILL FOR GOD’S VOICE TO PREVAIL

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Thursday Showers

It was a refreshing and impactful time in God’s presence at the November 28 Thursday showers, as Pastor Jimmy Odukoya exhorted the worshippers to release their own will and fully embrace God’s plan. He emphasized that true fulfilment in life comes from aligning with God’s divine purpose.

Drawing from Matthew 6:5-12, the Senior Pastor explained the difference between having a personal praying life and praying for public display; adding that a deep, personal prayer life is what God requires from believers as He taught His disciples. “God searches the intent of the heart. Authenticity in prayer is what matters most,” he said.

Pastor Odukoya further explained the importance of believers having a genuine, respectful relationship with God, stating that prayer should not be about dictating terms to God but about seeking His will, as stated in Matthew 6:10. In his words, “You need to dethrone your own voice and submit to God’s will. When you come to a place where your will is inconsequential, acknowledging God in all your ways, you’ll begin to see His will at work in your life.”

The clergy therefore encouraged believers to entrust their lives completely to God, stating that they can rely on God for protection, provision, guidance, and care.
