Pastor Nomthi encouraged the congregation of the October 22 Sunday service that as covenant children of God, they are entitled to the promise of God in Amos 9:13 which also is the Promise for the Week. Using the illustration of the board game Snake & Ladder, she explained that when God’s blessings come on His children, they defy the natural protocol of going round the normal road but speedily accelerate to the top-just as the ladder does for the player in the game. She also noted that God will not allow the enemies, which she likened to the snakes, to destroy such blessings. “This is how things will happen so fast for you,” she said.

While exhorting the worshippers of the October 19 Thursday Showers service, Pastor Nomthi said that there is no reason for a child of God to change his or her identity because of challenges of life; whether rejection or societal pressure.
Speaking from Isaiah 45:9-10, she said that God has made them beautiful according to His pattern and any self-made alteration would attract consequences. “Never listen to the deceit of the devil to change whom God has created you to be. You are good the way God created you,” she said.
She also noted that God expects His children to be content with whom they are and what they have. This, according to her, doesn’t mean they cannot go to God to make their request known in thanksgiving. She therefore urged them to be proud of their heritage because God has a purpose for creating them the way He did. “Don’t add anything to God creation, allow God handle it because He can handle any situation,” she said.
