Taking the promise for the week from John 16:24, Pastor Nomthi encouraged the congregation at the November 19 Thanksgiving service to keep asking from God so that their joy might be full. She illustrated with an incident during a family holiday. On entering an elevator which was to take them to the floor of their hotel room, another man who was in there pressed the button to his own floor. Her son who was supposed to press the button to their own floor decided not press their floor number thinking whatever number the man pressed would take them to their own floor.
Pastor Nomthi likened each floor of that building to each person’s purpose in life. “Everyone has their own floor (purpose to fulfil). Just as you cannot follow another person to their floor, you can’t go chasing after other people’s purpose,” she said.
She therefore urged the congregation to keep asking and keep pressing for themselves so that their joy might be full.
