Every tree will be known and identified by the kinds of fruit it produces. As believers, the Holy Spirit dwells in you to produce the fruit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, faith and patience. Pastor Taiwo said this at the September 22 Sunday service to buttress the fact that joy, as well as other fruits of the spirit, is inside every believer. All those who have accepted Christ, has His Spirit in him or her and walks daily in Him. “The Holy Spirit dwells inside of you. So, in order to actualize joy in all situations of life, you must walk in the Spirit daily,” he said.
Speaking from Galatians 5:16-23, he said that the source of Joy is the Holy Spirit and He helps believers to suppress and overcome the self-life cravings which are in contrast to the will of the Spirit. This fruit of the Spirit, according to Pastor Taiwo, can be developed through God’s word, praying and singing in the Holy Ghost; noting that the evident manifestation would be perceived by all just as it happened to the church in Macedonia (2 Corinthians 8:1-5). “When divine joy rises inside of you and manifests, there is nothing in the physical realm that can stop you,” he stated.
He therefore encouraged them to rejoice in the victory Christ has given them. “Are you trusting God for joy in your situations? Dwell more on and study God’s word always, get into the Spirit and watch God move on your behalf. You will observe how things would work well in your life and how you would be filled with joy in all situations,” he added.
Other scriptural quotations include; Colossians 3:16; John 6:63; Ephesians 5:15-20 and 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4a, 15, 18.

Sharing from the scripture for the month, Esther 8:16-17, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya at the September 19 Thursday Showers said that there is need for believers to know who and whose they are as this understanding would inform their behaviour and lifestyle which would make people desire their God.
Pastor Taiwo explained that Joy, which is a major fruit of the Spirit, should always be exhibited by a believer. This, he said, can be achieved when believers walk in the Spirit who is the source of Joy. “The Holy Spirit is the source of Joy and it is only when you walk in the Spirit that He will help you operate the fruit.
He therefore urged them to live conscious of their identity in Christ as this aids their victorious living. “Regardless of how fierce the battle is, there will always be a miracle because God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly. Yours is an overcoming life. You are an overcomer through the blood of Jesus,” he said.
