Using a tree planted by a river that keeps drawing nutrient and strength from the river as an illustration, Pastor Nomthi at the February 4 Sunday services said that a Christian’s life will always blossom because it draws strength and inspiration from God’s unfailing Word. “When things happen to you, you know where to run to draw strength—God, unlike the unbelievers who run to the counsel of the ungodly.
Speaking from Psalm 1:3, which is the promise for the week, she reiterated that the challenges of life cannot hold down such a believer, because he or she is rooted and grounded in Christ and His Word, and will always hold unto the Word until it becomes reality in his or her life. “That is why you will never lack any good thing in your life, neither will you be confused about where your help comes from,” she said.
PASTOR NOMTHI’S WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT @ THURSDAY SHOWERS
Running helter-skelter drains your energy, but when you look unto Jesus in every situation, you have no worries because you will discover His help. Pastor Nomthi said this at the February 1 Thursday Showers service while admonishing the worshippers from Mark 16:1-4. “People are dying today because of not looking up to God. You will always find help when you look above your circumstances and look unto Him,” she said.
According to her, believers would always find out that their challenging situations are no longer there once they can fix their gaze on Jesus Christ, just as Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome discovered that the stone at the sepulcher of Jesus had been rolled away. “You belong to the top, so rise up and look up. Those situations will be rolled away if only you will just look up to Him; that’s where your help comes from,” she stated.
She then warned against laziness and disobedience which can distract from looking unto Jesus.
