Pastor Taiwo Odukoya @ January Sunday Service
January 3 Sunday service was a great experience for members and friends of The Fountain of Life Church who were at the service. It was joy unspeakable in their faces as they all came with thanksgiving to God for making them see the first Sunday in the New Year as well as for His prophecy of possessing their possessions which was declared to them on the cross-over service by the senior pastor, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.
Speaking on the topic, “possessing your possession”, Pastor Taiwo told the church that for them to possess their possessions, they must first remain in their covenant space within God’s tenets and focus on Him; noting that distractions by the powers of the world is what leads to being dispossessed of one’s possessions. “If you stay within the limit of your calling, God will be glorified in your life. When you stay within your covenant space, you will possess your possession,” he said.
Taking his theme scripture from the Book of Obadiah 1:17, which also is the theme scripture for the year, the clergy further noted that to possess one’s possession means to take ownership of everything Christ has finished for one. He further cited examples of Biblical characters like Abraham (Genesis 13:10-17) and Joshua (Joshua 1), who, remaining in their covenant spaces were able to possessed their possessions. He noted that being courageous, strong, and obedient to God’s commandments are very important for believers if they must possess their possessions.
Pastor Taiwo went on to admonish his listeners against taking their eyes off Jesus as that would be their undoing. “You may still look and think you are sustained because you are licking the dust off the feet of men, but in the end, they will deal with you.”
He then highlighted taking back what was taken, capturing the grounds and claiming and walking in the inheritance and indwelling of the Holy Spirit as three important things every believer must do in order to possess their possessions. Scripture references to the above points can be drawn from Deuteronomy 9:1-3, Joshua 1 and Ephesians 1:3-11 respectively.

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya @ Thursday Showers
With huge awesome testimonies at the December 31 Thursday showers which was the last in the year 2020, the evidence of God’s goodness and faithfulness was palpable in the atmosphere and on the lives of the congregation.
Using the story of King Jehoshaphat and his encounter with three powerful Kings who waged war against him as recorded in 2 Chronicles 20:1-26 as illustration, Pastor Taiwo at the last showers in 2020 said that God is so particular about the future of His children irrespective of how the devil always fights against them.
Speaking about the coming year, Pastor Taiwo told the participants at the event that they don’t need to be afraid of the New Year, stating that once they make up their minds to listen more to the Holy Spirit and obey His instructions as well as serve and impress God, everything will fall in line for them.
He also told them that favour and greatness would accompany them in the coming year if they don’t become lazy. In his words, “If it’s about God, be assured that everything would work well for you. This coming year, just make up your mind that you want God to be glorified and be discerning in the Spirit, then watch what will happen. The more you glorify God through your life and ministry, the more you get glorified. You will achieve favour and greatness easily because the Lord is with you; but you will need to acquire skills, and be prepared. Don’t chicken out. There’s a room for preparation but no room for laziness.”
He also told them not to joke with worship in the New Year, noting that God will surely fight their battle and turn their enemies against them as it happened to the three kings that waged war against King Jehoshaphat. “No matter what the devil would throw around in the coming year, don’t forget to worship. Whatever God has told you for next year, it would be easier and faster through worship just as God fought for Jehoshaphat,” he urged.
