Remembrance In Closed Wombs

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Sunday service

It was a refreshing time in the presence of God on Sunday the 18th of August as Pastor Jimmy, continuing on the series on Divine Remembrance, spoke on “Remembrance in Closed Wombs.” According to the senior pastor, God can close wombs for a divine purpose or assignment.

Speaking from 1 Samuel 1:1-7, Genesis 16:2, and Genesis 20:17-18, Pastor Jimmy explained to the congregation that even if a man’s life is full of God’s grace, such an individual can still experience a closed womb. Also using Genesis 29:31, Genesis 30:22, Genesis 25:21, and Revelations 3:8, the clergy clearly uncovered the truth about the fact that God can actually close wombs but all for His purpose.

He further explained that when God closes a womb, it does not mean He has forgotten about such a person, but that such a person is remembered by God, adding that the waiting period is a blessing as opposed to the popular belief that it is otherwise. “Closing up a womb means God intentionally did it. It takes intention to shut a door,” says Pastor Jimmy Odukoya.

He went on to explain that sometimes God allows provocation in a Christian’s life to get them to the place He needs them to be, citing the example of Peninnah provoking Hannah to turn to God in prayer as recorded in 1 Samuel 1:19-20 and 1 Samuel 2:27-35.

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya explained that God used that provocation to allow for the birth of Samuel solely for the purpose of the law of substitution, stating that the closing of Hannah’s womb was a process leading to a higher purpose. In his explanation, Samuel replacing Prophet Eli, which also led to him anointing David in substitution of King Saul to leading to the birth of Jesus Christ who became the ultimate substitution for the sins of mankind all started with a closed womb. This means that closed wombs are always for a divine purpose as orchestrated by God,” he said.

The clergyman therefore urged the congregation to trust God’s plans for them even if it looks delayed, as delay is a part of God’s agenda for a man’s life to birth a divinely arranged purpose. “God controls times and seasons, so delay doesn’t mean you have been forgotten but it’s for a divine purpose. God’s plan towards mankind is purely a good one,” he stated.

“DIVINE REMEMBRANCE”

Pastor Femi Megbope @ Thursday showers

Speaking from Malachi 3:16-17 (AMP) and Proverbs 18:10, Pastor Femi while ministering at the August 15 Thursday Showers said that God is Omnipresent- He is everywhere, He hears and sees everything and also takes record of every conversation. He further added that God’s attention would be drawn to believers’ confession just as it was drawn to what the people were saying more than what they were doing in Malachi 3:16-17.

He asked, “When in the face of challenges, what is your confession? Which category do you fall in?”

Still referring to the scripture, the clergy pointed out that nothing was done for those that were complaining because they were insignificant; but the ones that honoured God’s name, speaking right regardless of what they were faced with, had the book of remembrance opened for them.

In his words, “Divine Remembrance is not an automatic thing, it is based on something: honouring the Lord. It is one thing to say what sounds right, but is your heart right, in tune and in sync with what you are saying? God’s attention was gotten because of what men were saying.”

He continued. “Is your mouth saying something and your heart is in a different place? The walk with God is a heart matter; anybody can say anything but where is your heart? Is your heart right and in sync with your words so that it will cause God to remember you? Not only that, but also to make Him act on your behalf?”

Pastor Femi thereafter reminded his listeners to be careful of their confession during challenges because God hears and remembers them, adding that whatever they say gets His attention.
