The Cost of the Anointing

TCOTA 1080X1080

Pastor Toluwani Odukoya @ Sunday service

Pastor Toluwani delivered a powerful message at the January 19 Sunday service on the cost of the anointing. She explained that, unlike in the Old Testament where anointing identified specific individuals, in the New Testament, every believer receives the anointing of the Holy Spirit at salvation.

Speaking from Acts 10:38, 2 Corinthians 1:22, 1 John 2:20-27, and Luke 14:27, the associate Senior Pastor identified three key elements of the anointing: the Anointer (God), the Anointed (Jesus), and the Anointing (the Holy Spirit), adding that the anointing requires a cost. “Carrying our cross is a requirement for following Christ. As Christians, we must understand that sacrifice is necessary to fully experience the power of the Holy Spirit,” she said.

According to Pastor Tolu, believers must pay the cost of preparation, sacrifice, and aligning themselves to God’s will for them, to walk in the full power and purpose of the anointing. Using biblical examples, Pastor Tolu illustrated the transformative nature of the anointing, stating that the Holy Spirit empowers believers to overcome weaknesses.

Earlier in the service, Pastor Dipo Osinloye encouraged the congregation with God’s promise from Psalm 84:11, emphasizing His promise to bless His children with His grace and glory. He told his listeners that as believers, they are already righteous in Christ Jesus, adding that His favour and glory will overflow in their lives as they continue in that righteousness.

The Efficacy of Worship and Testimonies

On January 16, during the Thursday showers, attendees had another amazing experience with the supernatural as they immersed themselves in worship. The powerful testimonies of students completing their education, individuals being kept safe from a fatal accident, divine provisions in various forms, and supernatural healings further uplifted the spirits of the worshippers, encouraging them to trust God for even more blessings.

Pastor Dipo Osinloye concluded the service with an uplifting worship session. As he led the congregation, he assured them that God’s promises would manifest in their lives if they remained in His presence throughout the year. “As we seek His face and heed His word, no promise will be held from us,” he said.
