Pastor Taiwo ministers @ Sunday service
Ministering during the May 7 Sunday services, the Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, Taiwo Odukoya, said that when God marks one for divine encounters, protocols are broken.
Using the encounter of the Samaritan woman with Jesus as recorded in John 4:10, 3–43 as an illustration, the clergy stated that when God wants to deal with a person in a special way, He allows them to be alone. Teaching further on this, he established that the Samaritan woman met the Lord alone at the well, and that led to the encounter that later defined her life.
The Man of God further stated that it was imperative to know that everyone is special to God and that the primary purpose of the Holy Spirit is to reveal Jesus to the believer so that He can reveal Him to others. Quoting Ephesians 1:3, he declared that each person is equipped by God to be his or her best, adding that God chose us even from the foundation of the world.
The clergy also said that God chooses who He will give a divine encounter to irrespective of the situation, just as He met the Samaritan woman at the well, an event that turned her life around for good. He cautioned them, however, not to get familiar with the Holy Ghost, which Jesus had given them upon His departure from the earth. “Working with the Holy Spirit demands yielding to Him at all times,” he said.
He concluded his message by urging the congregation not to joke with evangelism, adding that the Great Commission is all about people. He, therefore, gave two congregants who had been taken off the streets the opportunity to give their testimonies of God’s intervention in their lives through the ministry.
Earlier in the service, Pastor Mary Fayemi did an exposition of the Promise of the Week, which is from Lamentations 3:37. According to her, irrespective of the situation, which may seem to have defied prayers, God Almighty has the final say.
“He is always on point. What He says He will do, is what He will do,” Pastor Fayemi told the congregation as she led a prayer session, declaring God’s word into their lives.
“DO NOT STOP PRAYING”
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya urges worshippers @ Thursday Showers
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya has urged believers to not get weary of presenting their case to God but to be confident in going to Him, noting that God still hears and answers. He said this while ministering at the May 4 Thursday Showers service, which was held at the main auditorium of The Fountain of Life Church. “God hears, and this is where the confidence of a believer lies. Knowing that only God, by the move of His Spirit, can answer and do all things makes the confidence of the believer grow in asking Him for anything,” he said.
Speaking from 1 John 5:14–17, Pastor Taiwo said that once confidence is removed, the believer is a non-starter. In his words, “the confidence is in the believer asking God anything, not some things, but anything, and once it is in line with His will, He hears the prayer of the Christian.”
He continued, “As long as it’s beyond what man can do or fix, beyond what the government can offer as a solution, then it can be “anything” God can hear and answer to. Do not keep it to yourself; share it and be bold about it, and the more you receive.”
The clergy also cited Matthew 7:7–11 and Luke 11:13 to say that God is not out to play games with the church, adding that Jesus meant his promise that anyone who asks would receive, those who seek would find, and anyone who knocks would have the door opened to them. He also noted that the Holy Spirit is the activator of the promise. “God does nothing except through His Spirit. Once the Christian asks, by His Spirit, answers will come,” he said.
He, therefore, urged his listeners to believe and trust God, adding that they should not make God their last option but their first. “Don’t conclude before going to God in prayer. It doesn’t matter what the situation looks like. Everyone who asks receives.” Pastor Taiwo ended the service by leading the worshippers in prayer, directing all their needs to God with the help of the Holy Spirit.
