Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Sunday service
God’s children have God’s authority to decree a thing into existence and non-existence, if only they would realise the keys of authority has been given to them by Christ. Those were the lines along Pastor Jimmy Odukoya’s message at the November 10 Sunday service.
Speaking on the power of decree, the senior pastor emphasised the reality of powers and authority across the four domains of the Heavens, unknown spiritual realms, Earth and Hell. He read from the books of Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 12:2; 2 Peter 2:4; and Daniel 10:12-13 to say that those powers operate by decrees, according to their respective spheres of influence.
He also quoted Isaiah 14:27-28; 55:10-11; Psalm 103:19 and 135:5-8 to establish the sovereignty of God over all those domains and demonstrated how, through Jesus Christ, God has granted the believer the authority to exercise that sovereignty. “Christ has done His part; you should begin to do your part,” he said.
Linking his message to the efficacy of prayer, Pastor Odukoya told the congregation to be more devoted to prayers because that is the tool with which God empowers the believer for exploits. “Elijah was a man like us, limited as we are, but he prayed intensely and achieved great results. We have in us the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead and we should be provoked to do better,” he said.
The clergy continued, “Prayer is not for God! Prayer is for you. When you pray, it is for you, not for God. Unceasing prayer is what keeps you fired up. A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. Elijah made a decree before the king because he had concluded the matter in prayer before approaching him. What have you done with the authority that God has given to you?”
He then urged his listeners to keep the fire of prayer burning in them, as that is one place they can always be charged up for exploits. In his words, “Jesus went about doing good because He had been charged up in the place of prayer. He separated Himself often to pray and to get fired up. If prayer gave Christ the power, why do you think you can wield it without prayer in the first place? You must pray!”

YOUR POWER, YOUR decREE
Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Thursday Showers
The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, at the November 7 Showers Service stated that a seamless possibility of result within the interplay of deciding, decreeing, and manifestation can only be made possible by generating power in the place of prayer.
Focusing on the theme for the month “Divine Manifestation” with scriptural context from the book of Job 22:28 (Amp), the clergy emphasized that, the weight and authenticity behind every message or decree is always relative to the power backing it. Making inferences on how Elijah shut the heavens from rain for three and a half years as recorded in 1 Kings 17, Pastor Odukoya pointed out that Elijah’s confidence in his decree stemmed from knowing who he was and how close his relationship was with God.
Using James 5:17–18 as a cross examination of his earlier scriptural context, he made clear that Elijah’s decree could not have fallen in vain because it was preceded by a place of prayer.
Underscoring the importance of building spiritual power in the place of prayer, the clergy referenced Mark 9:28, Matthew 14:23, Luke 5:16, and Mark 6:46 to say that prayer should be a lifestyle for every Christian. In his words, “Our lifestyle of prayer must be able to prepare us so much that we remain a conduit of God’s presence wherever we show up.”
He therefore encouraged his listeners to embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit, as that remains an advantage to every believer. “He is a revealer of what we need before we know it and also a guide on how best to pray for it,” he said.
