In continuation of the message he started the previous Thursday, Pastor Taiwo told the participants at the August 2 Sunday service that they need not lose heart over challenges of life but to trust God and put everything to Him in prayer, noting that there is nothing a believer faces that God is not able to handle because nothing compares and competes with His power. “The devil is cunning but nothing compares with God’s power. So be strong in the Lord,” he said.
Speaking from Ephesians 6:10-18, Pastor noted that for believers to be victorious, they must understand that they have the power of the Holy Spirit in them and that makes them have what it takes to confront the devil. According to him, the devil only takes advantage of believers’ ignorance of their identity in Christ to intimidate and threaten them; but when believers understand who they are in Christ and the power that lives in them, they get strengthened to confront the devil. “When you know you’re strengthened in Christ, there’s no power that can stand against you,” he said.
Prayer, according to Pastor Taiwo, is an indispensable weapon of believers because it gives strength to confront the devil. This is why, according to him, Christians ought to always pray and not faint. In his words, “No matter how difficult and confusing an issue is, prayer brings solutions to it. Prayer is important and key to every believer. You’re created for victory, so don’t allow despondency deprive you of praying to your Father. A prayer less Christian is a defeated Christian.”
He further said that this prayer is based on the finished work of God, noting that believers need to put on the whole armour of God which are truth, helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God to make their prayer effective.
He said, “Every human problem has a spiritual root and so also is the struggle you go through. You therefore need to put on God’s armour so as to be able to confront the devil. Let there be no time in your life that you think you’re helpless. You’re a child of God and you are not helpless.”
He then urged them from Romans 8:26 to also rely on the help of the Holy Spirit to pray aright because He knows the heart of the Father and what exactly they need
THE POWER OF PRAYER

Pastor Taiwo has urged believers to be strong in the Lord as well as put on the whole armour of God to be able to confront the challenges of life. According to him, life is a struggle and every human problem on earth has its root in the spirit; hence the need for believers to take prayer seriously. He said this at the July 30 Thursday Showers Service.
Speaking from Ephesians 6:10-18, Pastor further said that it is easy to give up when opposition seems too powerful for one but the remedy to this is prayer. “Life is a battle. You don’t need to want to fight, you are called to fight. So, if you don’t want to lose heart or fail, then pray. It is as you pray that you will not lose heart in the face of the battle,” he noted.
The elements of an effective prayer, according to pastor Taiwo, include the truth, breast plate of righteousness, the shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. “For prayer to be effective, you must come with the knowledge and understanding of your identity in Christ and these elements,” he said.
He therefore assured his listeners of victory in the face of life’s battle even as they pray always. It gives them strength in the face of the battle. “Men always ought to pray and not faint,” he concluded by using the scripture from Luke 8:1.
