THE PRAYER OF FAITH

Today’s scripture: James 5:15

“And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven”

As a teenager, Kenneth E. Hagin laid paralyzed on a hospital bed for months. The doctors had consigned him to death. Then he stumbled on the Word of God and made an interesting discovery in the course of his study in Mark 11:24: “Whatsoever you desire when you pray, believe that you have received them and you will have them.” He believed the Word of God, placed his faith on the line and prayed. And on the 8th of August, 1934, God raised him up from his sick bed, healed and made whole.

Hagin’s account is not peculiar. Since the days Jesus walked the earth and Peter’s shadow healed the sick, miraculous healings have remained with us. Testimonies abound of people who had been given no chance to live, bodies ravaged by terminal disease, but raised to health again by the power of God. We have seen cancers healed, fibroids dissolved, barren wombs opened, cripples walking… Nothing is impossible for God. This is good news indeed. All we need to activate God’s healing power, as Kenneth Hagin proved, is a simple prayer of faith. Our opening scripture makes it unequivocally clear: the prayer of faith will heal the sick.

The prayer of faith is taking God at His Word and acting on it. Praying, believing, declaring that we are healed and following up that declaration with actions. The prayer of faith does not wait to see the results before it believes, the prayer of faith takes the Word of God as a manifest result and acts. So are you sick in your body or in your mind? Can you take God at His Word today? Get all the scriptures of healing in the Bible, start to meditate upon them, say it over and over again until faith is birthed in your heart and you will rise up to full life? Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Rise up and be healed in Jesus’ name!

Meditate and Memorize:

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and by His stripes, we are healed”. Isaiah 53: 4-5

Prayer/ Confession:

Thank You Father for the sacrifice of your son Jesus and for the assurance of healing that I have by virtue of His broken body and shed blood. Help me to live in faith on the finished work of Calvary, strengthen my heart to put my faith to work manifest Your glory in my health and life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
