Admonishing the congregation at the January 10 Sunday service from Deuteronomy 28:9-10 which is the promise for the week, Pastor Nomthi said that God will establish and set apart His children when they obey His commandment and walk in His way. “When you know and walk in His way, you will care about His presence and not only about what He does for you,” she said.
She stated that any believer who trusts God will never doubt Him or seek alternative help in the face of challenges but will always reveal His light to the world. “People who know God’s ways always want to please Him and show forth His light to the world. He in turn will establish them and make the world fear them,” she noted.
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM PASTOR NOMTHI ODUKOYA
Pastor Nomthi at the January 7 Thursday Showers service said that every wise believer would always honour and worship God with the gifts He has given them, just as the wise men did to baby Jesus in Matthew 2:10-11. “Wise men understand that whatever they have has been given to them by God, so they give it back to Him. If you are wise, you will give Him back your treasure,” she said.
She stated that those treasures could be money, time, worship and even their lives. “We all have treasures to give back to God. Identify yours and give it back to Him. Don’t look at your name or status, just give it to him and He will accept it from you,” she noted.
She urged them not to allow anything to hinder them from honouring God with their treasure. “Don’t be intimidated by your neighbour’s gift. Focus on your own and use it to honour him. Jesus will accept the gift because He’s the One who gave it to you,” she stated.
