Speaking from Job 5:22, which is the promise for the week, Pastor Nomthi at the March 1 Sunday said that the devil will always try to use unpalatable situations and challenges to distract believers from focusing on God and His promises for them; she noted however that their understanding of God’s sovereignty and love for them would always make them laugh at such challenges.
According to her, God is faithful to complete His work in their lives and will not allow the enemy to overcome them. “God is not asleep. He sees every plan of the enemy against you and He will make you laugh. You will laugh at destruction and famine because the enemy will not overcome you. You are more than a conqueror,” she said.
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM PASTOR NOMTHI @ THURSDAY SHOWERS
Pastor Nomthi, while admonishing the worshipers at the February 27 Thursday showers from Colossians 3:1-3, said that no true believer of Christ is ever exposed to the attack of the enemy. According to her, the life of God’s children are hidden in Him and nothing can touch them. “Your life is hidden in Christ. You are not exposed. Nothing will touch you when you’re hidden in Him,” she said.
One of the characteristics of those hidden in Christ, according to pastor Nomthi is keeping calmness. This, she said, would keep them away from making noise which can attract the enemy to them. “The whole idea of being hidden in Christ is so that you can fulfil your assignment. Making noise will distract you and thereby expose you to the attack of the enemy. So, don’t do silly things that will expose you from the hiding place. You keep focus,” she noted.
She encouraged the worshippers to be confident in their God who has hidden them in Himself. “Believe that God has hidden you in Himself and He will give you the rest you need once you can remain in His hiding place,” she urged.
