Speaking from 2 Kings 3:17 which is the promise for the week, Pastor Nomthi at the January 13 Sunday service said that God wants His people to believe His promise to them, even before they see the manifestation. According to her, Christianity is first believing, then seeing. “Believing is seeing for us as Christians and not the other way around,” she said.
She then urged them to ‘dig ditches’ by praising God in advance for the fulfilment of their promises, because He is faithful to answer all their prayers. “There is need to obey God’s instructions when He speaks,” she stated.
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM PASTOR NOMTHI @ THURSDAY SHOWERS
Dwelling on King Jehoshaphat’s trust in God for victory over his assailants as recorded in 2 Chronicles 20:9, Pastor Nomthi during the January 10 Thursday Showers service told the worshippers that believers ought to always be in the presence of the Lord, inquiring of Him and trusting Him for victory over challenges instead of giving in.
According to her, believers who have a rigid trust in God irrespective of life’s troubles would always overcome, just as King Jehoshaphat got the victory over his enemies when he trusted God. “Irrespective of your fears and challenges, you should always be found in the presence of God,” she noted.
She admonished them from John 16:33 to always be confident, knowing that God will come through for them. In her words, “No matter the pestilence, famine or drought, we will always stand in God’s temple, knowing fully well that when we cry into His ears, He will come and save us.”
