Admonishing the congregation on the May 27 Family Sunday service from the Book of Matthew 16:19, which is also the promise for the week, Pastor Nomthi said that the keys to the kingdom of heaven has already been given to believers but only those who truly know and understand their identity in Christ will be able to use it effectively.
According to her, a believer can only be assured and confident that whatever he or she binds or looses on earth remains so in heaven when they know their identity in Christ. “When you know who you are in Christ and what He has said about you, then He will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven and then you will be able to open whatever door before you and whatever you bind and loose on earth will be bound and loosed in heaven,” she said.
She therefore urged them not to allow the devil confuse and deceive them into believing otherwise thereby making their authority in Christ of no effect. “Don’t ever allow the devil confuse you about your identity in Christ. You are the child of the living God; so appropriate your keys. Don’t use it in the wrong places,” she stated.
